More Valentines

January 17th, 2012 crftyjh 1 comment

Everyone loves receiving Valentine cards.  Parents, lovers, children, grandchildren, and friends all enjoy a greeting on that special day.  Here’s a selection you can copy or embellish upon.  Designer papers are from BoBunny, cardstock is Stamp Express quality cardstock.  Dies are Spellbinders and Accucut.  Cupcake stamps are from Hero Arts.  Sentiment stamp is JustRite, and the bunny is Stampavie.  All coloring is done with Copic markers.  Remember when cutting images out by hand, move the paper instead of the scissors for a smoother cut.  Also, cut just outside the lines so that you can see the stamped outline.  Embellishments include Prima flowers, butcher twine from Stampin’ Up, and glued on beads for the cupcake decorations.  These are such fun to make, you’ll want to make more.  All products are available at www.stampexpressstore.com.  During January, everything is 30% off!  Start crafting!

Altered Notepads

October 12th, 2011 crftyjh 1 comment

I love to keep lists!  Lists of gifts for people, things to do, ideas to try etc.  You can alter any plain inexpensive notepad to make list making more fun.  Here are some examples of seasonal pads we are taking to the church holiday event in November.  You can use any size.  Just cover the front with cardstock add decorative paper and put a band over the top to hold it together.  Then embellish to your heart’s content.  I used BoBunny designer paper and Stampin’ Up paper.  Cardstock is Stamp Express quality cardstock.  Stamps are from Stampavie and JustRite.  Buttons and flowers are from my stash.  Ovals were cut with Stampabilities  Nesties dies.  Use Scor-tape so everything will hold up well with use.  These supplies are for sale at www.stampexpressstore.com.

How does your garden grow?

April 19th, 2011 crftyjh No comments

Ken has been preparing the soil, buying the seeds and planting the onions. It’s that time of year. ” Finn Whistling While He Works” reminds me of how much Ken enjoys doing the gardening. First I made a copy of a seed packet. Sprayed it with water and crumpled it up for the background. When it was dry, I smoothed it out and touched the high ridges with a brown ink pad. I glued this to the blue layer and then to the green card. Finn (Stampavie) was colored with Copic markers and then torn out. The edges were distressed with the same brown ink pad. The image was glued on top and a flower added for embellishment. What a great card for Father’s Day or a guy’s birthday this season. And the good news is that you can purchase the stamp, ink and markers now at our on-line store. If you want a gal gardening try” Elodie in Her Garden” using the same technique. Stampavie Easter

March 30th, 2011 crftyjh 1 comment

These new Stampavie stamps are so CUTE!  The rabbit with the pencil (Just to Say) could be used any time of year with any message.  I used a spring saying from Hero Arts.  The cardstock is Stamp Express quality cardstock, the designer paper is BoBunny.  The punch is Martha Stewart.  All colors are Copic Markers.  Several folks have asked that I publish the colors I use.  So, beneath each card I have listed the Copic colors.  But, know that you could use any 2 shades of a color family that you happen to own.  If you would like more colors, check out our selection at our on-line store.

The Easter chick is cut out with a labels 1 Nestabilities die.  Again the cardstock is Stamp Express quality cardstock, designer paper is BoBunny, markers are Copic, flowers are Prima, and the words are from Judikins.  What fun these were to make.  Order your Stampavie stamps now from our store to be ready for the Easter season.

SDV Memories

March 22nd, 2011 crftyjh 1 comment

We had such a good time at the Gettysburg Scrappers Dream Vacation event that I want to share some of it with you.  Our booth featured make-it/take-its with Margaret keeping it lively.  The Scor-pal and Copic Markers seemed to be a big hit.  Here are some photos of the gals working on the projects.

We also introduced two new stamp companies; Just-Rite and Stampavie.  Two of the 12″x12″ pages we had on display are below.  All images were colored with Copic markers.  Bo-Bunny’s double sided paper got a lot of raves as did the Scor-tape.  These products are now selling on our web store with the exception of the Bo-Bunny paper. That will be coming soon!

If you have never attended an SDV, consider the upcoming one in August at Hagerstown, MD.  We’ll be there! If you’re interested go to their website at www.eventpathunlimited.com/events/

Feel Better Soon

When my cousin had a hip replacement before Christmas, I sent her this adorable puppy image with her leg in a bandage.  What a great get well card from Stampavie.  Now at least a half dozen customers at Stamp Express have had knee replacements, hip replacements, and foot surgery since the holidays.  These cards are for you.  And, you know who you are.  We hope you will all be on the mend soon.
