My sister was born on Valentine’s Day. So, a heartfelt wish with a heart cupcake is in order. I used the Stamp Express circle cut-out card in pink and some heart designer paper. Then I added a cupcake stamped from Hero Arts and colored with Copic markers. Some beads for sprinkles completed the cake. Then i mounted it on a Nesties circle from Spellbinders. For embellishment there is lace from a Martha Stewart punch. ribbon from May Arts and sentiment from Hero Arts. The basic cardstock for this and the next card are the quality cardstock from Stamp Express.
The blue card also features a Hero Arts cupcake, May Arts ribbon, Martha Stewart punch, Art Institute glitter, and designer paper from Colorbok. Layers are cut with oval Nesties from Spellbinder.

February Birthday Card #1

Birthday Card #2
Everyone loves receiving Valentine cards. Parents, lovers, children, grandchildren, and friends all enjoy a greeting on that special day. Here’s a selection you can copy or embellish upon. Designer papers are from BoBunny, cardstock is Stamp Express quality cardstock. Dies are Spellbinders and Accucut. Cupcake stamps are from Hero Arts. Sentiment stamp is JustRite, and the bunny is Stampavie. All coloring is done with Copic markers. Remember when cutting images out by hand, move the paper instead of the scissors for a smoother cut. Also, cut just outside the lines so that you can see the stamped outline. Embellishments include Prima flowers, butcher twine from Stampin’ Up, and glued on beads for the cupcake decorations. These are such fun to make, you’ll want to make more. All products are available at www.stampexpressstore.com. During January, everything is 30% off! Start crafting!

It’s easy to make Victorian style Valentine cards when you incorporate our vintage prints with lacey embellishments, flowers, ribbons, and jewels. You could also use these on a wedding scrapbook page or anniversary spread. Punches I used were Martha Stewart and EK. Cardstock is Stamp Express quality cardstock. Designer paper is from BoBunny. And stamps for the sentiments are from Hero Arts. Jewels and ribbons were in my stash. Ovals and scallops were cut with Spellbinders dies. You can order the vintage prints this month at 30% off. All the other products are also on sale. Just click here to go to our store.

Greetings from your Valentine

My Valentine
It’s time to send notes of appreciation for all those wonderful holiday gifts and thoughts you received in the last few weeks. Here are three easy cards to slide you into the creative mood. Sometimes it is difficult to transform from holiday mode to everyday life. Start off with these “no brainer” cards and you can develop more ideas as you go.
I used the circle cut out cards from Stamp Express. They now are available in colors like black, red, yellow, green, pink, blue and purple as well as white. Cover the bottoms with Bo-Bunny designer paper, and add a stamped message, sticker or image. Purchase circle cut out cards here.
Still in the winter theme I used a snowflake sticker on the black and white sample. The Sizzix tag sports the sentiment leaving the inside to write a message. On the key collage, I finally got to use Stampin’ Up butcher twine with an Accucut buckle and the stamped message on the circle. This stamp is from Hero Arts, but you could use any that fit the round Nesties circle. My third card is thinking of Spring. Daffodils are Just-Rite and colored with Copic markers. The ribbon is May Arts. Check out stampexpressstore.com for all supplies. There is a SALE going on in January.
Now write a brief message and send these notes out to those you love. Friends and family would much rather receive a real card than an e-mail blurb from you in the new year!
Happy 2012!

When I watched a tutorial on Becca Feeken’s blog, amazingpapergrace.com, I got all inspired to try this technique with a corner punch. Of course, I can’t follow directions very well, so I had Ken figure it out for me. If you don’t know, Ken is my soulmate and husband. He is also a lot more analytical than I.
Here are some ideas we came up with using a Martha Stewart corner punch and turning it at right angles as we punched along. The scrapbook page is 8″x8″ and uses the corners as well as a border. The envelope card is the simplest, and the butterfly card has a long lacy embellishment. If you’d like personal instruction on these, come to Ken’s class at the store next Monday. If you can’t make that, check out Becca’s blog. It just gives you something new to try. We love new ideas!

I wanted to make a card that looked like a quilt, but I didn’t want to really sew. I noticed on several blogs that people were actually stitching on paper. Since I gave my sewing machine to my daughter-in-law, I figured that I would never sew again. I got one of those little cheapy jobs that were advertised for sewing on paper, but couldn’t make it work. So here is my representation of “faux” quilting. I used two stamps. One is from Magenta, the other from Outlines. I stamped and colored several squares, then cut them out and glued them to black cardstock. I topped them off with Spellbinder’s fleur de lis pendant in white and then two circle Nesties layered and elevated with foam tape. The message is from a Hero Arts clear set. I think my grand-daughter will enjoy this creation for her birthday card this month. Then I had an extra square and an extra piece to the fleur de lis. So I made a little 3″x3″ love note with these parts. A green gem finished it off nicely. I hope you get inspired by these little quilts.

So many cards, so little time. If you have needed to make a multitude of cards recently, you know there just isn’t time to spend an hour on each creation. Here are two uncomplicated cards I made for Father’s Day and our son and daughter-in-law’s anniversary. The Dad’s Day card is simply strips of designer paper, matted, and a greeting embellished with a matching button. The anniversary card is a window cut out with Nesties, some stamping with a little coloring, tag with ribbon and some glitzy gems. I hope you and they enjoy them.

When my cousin had a hip replacement before Christmas, I sent her this adorable puppy image with her leg in a bandage. What a great get well card from Stampavie. Now at least a half dozen customers at Stamp Express have had knee replacements, hip replacements, and foot surgery since the holidays. These cards are for you. And, you know who you are. We hope you will all be on the mend soon.

I may be running late, but I’m just beginning to think of the holiday season. When this adorable House Mouse of the month arrived I couldn’t wait to stamp it. Mouse E. Claus colored with Copic markers just matches the new Christmas double sided paper that arrived from Creative Imaginations. Embossing with the Cuttlebug Swiss dot folder gives a snowy feeling to the scene.
Then while in the spirit of things I tried an inchie design with a pine branch. They were showing similar ideas on the inchie website (inchiearts.com). This is a quick easy one if you plan to make a lot of cards.
