The Embossed Christmas Card

The best adhesive we have found when paper engineering bags, boxes, pockets, etc. is Scor-tape. But it is also useful when you want to embellish your work with a straight line. You can apply it to your project, then sprinkle with flocking, glitter, flower soft, or embossing powder. Since it is heat resistant, you can apply the heat gun to the powder with no problems. Just be sure that you place it where you want it, because you’ll never be able to move it! Here are two card samples where we used the tape to make lines. The gold stripe on the fleur d’ lis card is done with gold embossing powder, while the pink line on the flowered card is flocking. The tape is available at our on line store.
Materials used:
Just Rite Stamps, Copic markers, Bo Bunny designer paper, Martha Stewart punch, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Stamp Express quality cardstock.

Here’s a sneak peak at one of the cards Betsy will be teaching you at the Locomotion day on Feb 5th. I love this vintage look print. It’s available at our on-line store along with several others. And the lace adds an old fashioned touch. Betsy also is showing you a lace bookmark with a handmade paper flower. And she has a few other Valentines in the works. To sign up for this day of fun and classes, go to the class registration tab on our home page. Nothing says LOVE like a vintage Valentine card.

Vintage Valentine
For the Stamp Express birthday celebration on Saturday, June 26, I will be doing 4 demos of various techniques for cards. Below are two of the planned ideas. They were cased from Gina K on her Stamp TV site. The first is my version of cropped circles. Use layered die cuts from circle Nesties and after adhereing them to a layer, crop the edges. Of course you could try the same technique with ovals and other shapes. The second card has curly-Q hinges at the sides of an oval Nestie. The hinges are created with 4 swirly diecuts from Sizzix. I will also include two projects not pictured here. One is a paper lace flower using a Martha Stewart punch. The other is a distressed background made from an old book page. Come to the store Saturday and see these in person. If you are interested, but can’t make it, just e-mail me for further directions.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! (in July) These adorable images from Stamp-a-vie came in just in time. I couldn’t wait to stamp and color them. Betsy Gibney started the Christmas workshops and has had a good response. We will be running them every month from now until November. It makes you want to sing carols and bake gingerbread. Well, maybe that’s rushing things a bit. But, this is a great time to start your cards, tags and gifts. Here are some ideas to get you started.
